If you're smart enough to have kept one of the Windows 7 products, this is the best "patch" you can possibly install on top of your O/S:

Never 10

I run that on a regular basis on my Win 7 & 8.1 installs. MS tries to sneak in “upgrade” to Win 10 in Windows updates every now & then. So I run it, at the least, after every regular monthly update.

Funny, neither of my two Dell Win 7 PCs have ever bugged me about 10. Dunno if they have an OEM trick to disable that, or what. I did not allow updates on my older machine for over two years. Newer laptop I did, but no 10 nag notices.

I suppose they know if you went to the trouble of buying a new PC with 7, you certainly wanted nothing to do with 10.

Never understood how MS was able to legally force install that crap OS Spyware on someone’s PC without permission.
