Snow White had no father
Cinderella had no father
Sleeping Beauty has a kingly father. He has arranged a marriage for his daughter. She goes through some Disney drama, becomes a “peasant girl”, falls in love with the prince she was already promised too, etc...
All of the other princesses come after NOW and the Communist Revolution in America. (1968, 1974, 1993, 2009, etc)
Actually, Ariel of the ones that came after the classic three came the closest to being like them, and certainly wasn’t of the Communist revolution if that’s what you’re implying (heck, if anything, despite technically being Danish, she’s as American as pie in overall outlook). She at least actually WANTED to marry someone, and more importantly actually respected his decisions, even if it came badly for her (case in point: She never made ANY attempt at stopping Eric from marrying Vanessa, even when she realized the alternative, because she thought he chose her of his own free will. In fact, when she did interfere, it was only AFTER she learned Ursula was disguised as Vanessa in what was a clear violation of their deal). In fact, the only character in the film who actually adhered to NOW and Communist ideology was Ursula, who as you know is the main villain. And also, technically, The Little Mermaid as we know it actually had many of the same changes that Walt Disney himself actually intended for when he planned to make the film (probably the only difference is the ending, and I don’t mean Ariel died, more like Eric impales Ursula with the Trident instead of ramming her with a ship Die Hard-style).
Actually, if anything, it was the likes of Belle who came about as a result of the Communist revolution and NOW, since apparently Jeffrey Katzenberg demanded a “feminist twist” to Beauty and the Beast after the third rewrite due to complaints by critics against Ariel, claiming she was “cloyingly sexist” just because she actually WANTED to be with Eric, and that’s despite the fact that Ariel proved to be a badass and more importantly actually WANTED to become human BEFORE meeting Eric or even being aware of him. Heck, he even went as far as to bring in that feminazi Linda Woolverton to ensure it had as much of a feminist twist as possible, and in fact, he’s the reason she even HAS a job at Disney.
