Roseanne isn’t back, but The Conners are. The highly anticipated follow-up show premiered Tuesday night to lower-than-expected ratings but critical approval. Besides tuning in to find out how the show did away with Roseanne, what did viewers actually think about the show?
The consensus? Not great.
“This show should have stayed ‘cancelled,'” one viewer said succinctly. Another commenter was equally as blunt, stating; “Probably the worst show I’ve ever seen.”

I have read that not only did they off her with a drug overdose the also made her character a drug dealer too. Is that the case?
Oops, you mean I missed it? Darn it, I was watching NCIS yesterday. I’ve read that Ames McMahara (the boy who is gender fluid) is gender fluid.
Agreed - 100%. I also put James Spader in that league. He was phenomenal in The Practice/Boston Legal and in The Blacklist.
Of all of them, I think I have the most admiration for Goodman, though. He is an Actor through and through. Never, ever seen him come close to phoning it in. His portrayal of the grief-stricken husband last evening was heart-wrenching for both Mrs. QNQ and I to watch.
I started to watch an interview Roseanne did recently on YouTube. How foul mouth convinced me in the first three minutes that is is not a woman that I would want to expose my family to.
Sorry, I can’t separate the actor from the role.
The show should be called “The Con Whores” as all the characters seem to be con artists who will do anything for money.
Roseanne without Roseanne is like going to see Bruce Springsteen and only the Silver Bullet Band shows up.
James Spader. Might as well throw William Shatner in there too.
They were amazing together, and Shatner has managed to reinvent himself in iconic ways so many times.
People look down their noses at Shatner. All he did was carry three major TV series and publish an entire Sci-Fi novel series.
Doesn’t matter if they supported her. It would have made them look stupid and unforgiving.
It also would have gone a long way to starting a make over of her career, not theirs. That show is her life’s work. It wouldn’t help the show but would have helped her.
It probably got 10 million viewers just out of curiosity. I bet it tanks next week.

Serves ABC right for canceling Last man standing for no reason. Watch that show, much better.
But there is a gay child on the show. Shouldn’t that be a big ratings boost? /S

I actually chuckled a few times. I still don’t think it will make it. I feel bad for John Goodman, although he will always have work somewhere. I always liked him. He’s like Gene Hackman, no matter what he’s in, he’s always good.
Didn’t watch this piece of crap last night..NO Roseanne, NO watching, really that simple. They made such a fuss about a TWEET calling a Jihadist a monkey, meanwhile leftists are able to call for the assassination of our President and his family and these same celebrities get to keep their shows
