I was just out for a walk, re-listening to an audiobook with Scott Adams reading Win Bigly: Persuasion in a World Where Facts Don't Matter. As I was getting back from my walk, Adams was beginning his discussion of Hillary's "basket of deplorables" speech. Trump's response at the time was that her remarks showed "her true contempt for American voters". Adams says that of all the words that Trump could have chosen, the word "contempt" was the one with the strongest persuasion power. "It was perfect." It either changed the minds of many voters, or at least gave them cover for what they wanted to do anyway.
I do enjoy Mr. Adams. Sorry he lost his girlfriend. He was too good for her anyway.
