What happened to international law that says you must seek asylum in the first country where you feel safe? Maybe the “threat” of Mexican police telling them to go home will be enough to satisfy their claim that they didn’t feel safe until they got to theUSA.

I thought the Mexican police would be stopping them to keep them from coming into Mexico so how would they then reach the US border?
And asylum is supposed to be for a class of people persecuted by their government for specific reasons, not for economic reasons or domestic violence. What angered me is that the Obama administration stuck to the law and applied it to Christians applying for asylum from Syria and the ME, but not to the invaders from our southern border.
