We’re safe from the bridge debris. But boat after boat has gone down river along with all sorts of debris. We’re worried about the 1431 bridge on the south side of Kingsland with stuff getting caught up on it.
Right now someone’s dock is passing by with six chairs neatly sitting in a straight line all undisturbed.
VERY weird is our boat dock. It is defying all laws of physics and refusing to give up the ghost. It rose up about 5 ft. and has now dropped about back to normal. It is NOT a floating dock. We and the neighbors are laughing and shaking our heads over it. Dangest thing I ever saw. The water is receding but reports are that it may rise again from the San Saba and Colorado Rivers (the TX one, not the Grand Canyon one) flooding. Those will bring flood waters from the other direction - with us in the middle of the two.
Annnnd, another 2 lost boats passing.
A blue heron wandering along the water line looking for a meal. The kitties finally settled down after looking at the water in their yard. They were inside yesterday so are getting cabin fever. Don’t think I’m going to let them out tonight so I’ll be the big meanie.
Llano River has dropped from 39.91 ft. to 31. Is supposed to rise again to 37 tomorrow. Getting tired of this rain.
More weird dock stuff - The dock lights had turned themselves on at daybreak. Guess something hit the switch??
Mr. b couldn’t get the lights to turn off. Now, that the water is receding, the lights are still on. That or there’s an alien space craft glowing down under the water.
“Right now someones dock is passing by with six chairs neatly sitting in a straight line all undisturbed.”
I know that’s not funny, but it brought a funny picture in my head.
Stay safe! Can you leave if you need to?
