Chris is a bit naive. It's got nothing to do with surviving but everything to do with savage behaviors. The looting started the minute the winds lightened up not starving after a week of no food.

If they were only looting necessities, I might give some consideration to Chris’ theory, however big screen TVs and other such items are not necessities.
