A now-former Ohio University student senator was charged Monday by the OU Police Department with three counts of “making false alarms,” after reporting that she had received a series of threatening messages, including a death threat targeting her as an LGBTQ person.
After Anna Ayers, 21, of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, reported that she had received those threatening messages two weeks ago, the OU Police investigated her claims and found that she had “placed the messages herself, prior to reporting them,” according to an OU Police news release issued early Monday evening. Ayers resigned form her position on Student Senate as Senate’s appropriations commissioner Tuesday.
“Ayers previously reported receiving a series of threatening messages, two of them in the Student Senate office, and one of them at her residence,” the release states. “Subsequent investigation by OUPD found that Ayers had placed the messages herself, prior to reporting them”
Ayers, an OU senior studying journalism, reported to Student Senate last week that she received a note in the Student Senate office the previous Thursday (Sept. 27) that “expressed extreme hatred… because of who I am.”
On the following Monday morning, Oct. 1, she alleged that she received another message, this time threatening her life. The notes focused on her identity as a member of the LGBTQ community, she said. She told fellow senators at the Student Senate meeting on Oct. 3 that she suspected the hateful notes came from another student senator, alleging that the attack came “from within (the Senate).” Student Senate had suspended its normal activities that Wednesday in order to hear from Ayers.
Making false alarms is a first-degree misdemeanor, carrying a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine, according to the police news release.

For Leftists, “believing is seeing.” In their twisted minds, belief is sufficient to prove something is true. Fabrication of evidence occurs to justify the belief. This is the same as Justice Kavanaugh’s accusers making up their phony claims and their Democrat enablers/users peddling them, only on a different scale.

Per some in the Left we should just “take her word” over what happened.
