I really don’t get doing that stuff if you have loved ones and other things to live for. But to each their own..
I wonder how many people are frozen alive climbing Mt Everest? It should be called Death Mountain. I bet there are more frozen corps than anyone imagined, a grave yard of dead mountaineers who froze or fell and then froze. Just be sure you’re not stepping on any on your way up.
Here’s one description:
“There is no firm count of the exact number of climbers that have died on Mount Everest, but as of 2016, about 280 climbers have died, about 6.5 percent of the more than 4,000 climbers who have reached the summit since the first ascent by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953.”
You can go online, like You Tube for instance and see video of frozen corpses on Everest. It’s takes too much effort to bring them down so they just stay there, for decades.
Push them off a slope and let them slide down?
RIP.

I saw the PBS documentary on it, and it was pretty scary/strange/weird. It was an expose on “climbers” paying $60k to reach the top. Most were not ready to be there, and that is the primary reason they died.
Very sad.

Everest is considered a tourist mountain by the professionals. I was watching one documentary, and a small group of climbers (about 5) had to wait near the summit because a group of 30 Chinese tourist climbers were waiting “their turn” at the summit.
“Tourist climbers”...very accurate.

Paging Dr. Beck Weathers.
Thanks. Who knew!
Wow, I’ll pass but if must be a sight!
