Maybe they will create an American flag scene and insert it into the movie. That would save their ratings.

I have the book
First Man, by James R. Hansen. The passage about the planting of the Flag mentions that they had some trouble with the telescoping poles, and also getting it deep enough into the surface to stand up.
I'm surprised the movie didn't include some bumbling scene of these difficulties as an 'America fail' type of thing. Says to me they didn't read the book as thoroughly as they want us to think.

This movie hits my interest sweet spot.
I heard an interview with the director and he said they show the flag just not the flag planting. He gave some artistic/storytelling reasons. It was Goslin who said it was too pro American.
I'll probably watch it when it comes out on Redbox. $50 for a trip to the movies vs $1.50 at home.
Probably read the book first.

I’m surprised they didn’t show a Canadian Flag.
They should have had Mike Holmes play Buzz Aldrin.
