I joined FR on 8 October 2000. On the 14th I made my first contribution and coined the phrase, "Broken Glass Republican" at the same time. (See the link above)(A thank you to the Wayback Machine for archiving the post. JimRob says the FR database has been corrupted.) The term was picked up by Byron York who got it from his sister, a FReeper, over dinner and published in National Review. Peggy Noonan then used it in her article The Meaning of the Vote Democracy is a blessing--especially for "Broken Glass Republicans". It was also used repeatedly by Rush on the air. Attaching "Broken Glass" to some group name has become a reference to the intensity of that group's dedication.
This has become part of my primary signature block along with my family's motto, "Garde la Foi (Keep the Faith)." That is exactly what we need to do in the upcoming midterm elections.
President Trump has exceeded our already high expectations. And yet there is too much left to do. It takes time to undo decades of political and societal decay. This can ALL come to a screeching halt should the Democrats take control of the House and/or Senate next term.
Democrats (liberals) promise a society more beautiful than the stained glass of the grandest cathedral on Earth. What they deliver is anything but beautiful. No matter where you look you see the sharp shards of liberal broken glass waiting to slice at the souls and psyches of you, your neighbors, your children, and grandchildren.
If you live in a battleground state or district, get involved and get friends out to vote. If you live in a safe district you can still work on other local races or volunteer to make GOTV phone calls to help Republican candidates elsewhere.
Garde la Foi, mes amis!
Get Out The Vote for a Red November
I, too, will crawl over broken glass if necessary to vote November 6th. And I’m voting RED!!!
I’m gonna vote early and have breakfast.
Poor old Beto will be lookin for his socks..
Lupe? LOL
She can’t find her Pink Unicorn!
A bit off topic....when did your name spelling change from ‘Loan Palm’ to ‘Lone Palm’?
Just curious.
Thanks much for the post.
Washington week on PBS just said Beto is not this fantasy Unicorn.
They don’t exist.
No mention of Lupe.
The money on Beto is stunning, The empty message is stunning.
Tx will kick this rich millionaire to the curb.
Hopefully dislodge a few teeth.
I am the Chairman of our Township Central Committee here in lovely Geneva Illinois.
Bloomingdale Township is after me to join again as a Committeman. I am considering it.

If you have it in you, go give them an elbow to the eye...
We have a guy in Dallas, ‘John Wylie Price’
Half of the blacks think he is an A**hole.
Hit him! Hit Him!
That’s great. You should do it now since you can get involved right away. I am proud to be on the frontlines of the battle against big government tyranny right here in Illinois. I am surprised that more patriots aren’t moving here to where all the action is, join up and get some.
We’re practically neighbors. We lived in Addison before moving to (a part of) Batavia (that is actually in Geneva Township.) This is a wonderful area to raise a family and people want to keep it that way.
Madigan is desperate and blowing a mountain of dough on candidates that can’t win out here in the sticks because he’s getting preasure in places he never expected.
The last three weeks have been a real game changer. It doesn’t mean it won’t be close so...
ALL HANDS ON DECK!
I’ll see you in the trenches.

It started to be a bit of a problem and I asked JimRob to change it for me. I was actually named in some of the early lawsuits after Free Republic took off in popularity and effectiveness.
Hope this answers your questions.

Garde la Foi, mes amis! Nous nous sommes les sauveurs de la République! Maintenant et Toujours!
(Keep the Faith, my friends! We are the saviors of the Republic! Now and Forever!)
LonePalm, le Républicain du verre cassé (The Broken Glass Republican)
Thanks. As I said, my curiosity was piqued, when I noticed the different spellings.
