I am from New Orleans and we had friends in Gulfport. They were about 2 miles inland so were OK, but I remember those ships vividly. They brought in workers from India I believe to dismantle them. The water was only knee deep for at least a quarter of a mile going offshore from all the sand Camille dredged up.
