Huh, I always thought they required warm temperatures........I have an internet pen pal who lives in Britain and he once mentioned the hedgehogs around his house.

They don't cause damage to your landscaping do they?

Where I live, the winters are rather mild. It got down to the mid-20's F last winter. I saw a hedgehog in Kazakhstan years ago, and in tht area, the temperature got down to below 0 F in the winter.

Not sure if they do much damage to the plants around the building. People leave out food for the stray cats that live around here - and the hedgehogs come out at night and feast on the cat food. So, maybe they are well-fed and leave the plants alone. My wife said she saw a bunch of babies running aroung this summer.
