Let me re-phrase that...the part where Peterson says he may not be correct in this “solution,” only that it is a solution/option. You got that distinction, right?
You seem to be satisfied only by your own interpretation of what Peterson was saying. Most of us can tell that it was a hypothetical exercise. The danger lies in helping to construct a parallel universe where, even after this bruising, blistering Battle For Brett, even after his confirmation, there may STILL be a legitimate way to remove him from that position! My unseen message to him is; please DO NOT give the Dems any hope in undoing this court appointment! They will cling to any wisp of a chance, no matter how weak.
Academically, he is correct, but for the average conservative, that’s the last thing we want to hear right now, that the Dems will have yet one last unpopped air bubble of optimism. Most of us simply want that battle (of the Supreme Court) to be OVER. At least for a while.
