Is fetchez a real french word, or made up version of “fetch”? Just curious, it seems a lot of fancy french or archaic English words for things made their way onto the American frontier as hillbilly words, like vittles, kin, reckon. If fetchez is real, then I would add fetch to that list.

And no, this is NOT a Walmart slide, even though it was founded by hillbillies.

It is made up.

'Fetch' would be aller chercher, literally 'go search'.

Aller is the verb 'to go'.
