why family holiday meals have turned into the equivalent of company pot-lucks.

And that is why I have holiday meals with my REAL family, my little family, my kids and grandkids. So much less stress, and they don't care if I bake pies and cakes in my Easy Bake oven (that's what I call my toaster oven, no room in here for a stove).

That’s easier here since my mother-in-law passed. I hate to say it but it’s much less stressful on my wife.
