No. It is California, we have a "jungle primary", the two top vote getters in the primary run in the general election. It is Diane Feinstein, Democrat, age 84, vs Kevin DeLeon, Democrat, age 51.
We have all had an up close look at Feinstein these past few weeks, and it has not been favorable. However, at her age she has at most only one term left in her. She may not even make it to the end of another 6 year term.
Kevin DeLeon will have all the craziness of Feinstein, plus he will openly be the Senator from Mexico. If he wins, he will probably be in office for the next 30 years.
“plus he will openly be the Senator from Mexico”
That’s correct.
Because he IS a Mexican citizen, or perhaps more correctly, Guatemalan.
Both parents were illegals when he was born.
It doesn’t matter that he was born in the US - which is very much in doubt, his mother lived in Tijuana - the status of the children of illegals has never been adjudicated.
Only a State Department directive to issue passports to them if they have a US birth certificate. The Wong Kim Ark decision may apply, and a footnote in the Plyler v. Doe decision as well, but...it’s never been adjudicated as I said.
De Leon should be taken to court to prove his citizenship. Because he’s not a citizen, and just because he insists he is doesn’t make it so.
It’s one thing to tolerate their presence up to a point. Entirely another to hand over federal power to them.
