Here's a bit of trivia I never knew until today. He was drafted 221st by the Red Wings in the 1989 NHL entry draft along with Nicklas Lidstrom (3rd round #53) who was only 18 at the time and Sergei Federov (age 19) 74th in the fourth round. Both who are now NHL Hall of Famers......There's a good chance Konstantinov would have been a Hall of Famer too.
That draft was perhaps the best in the history of not only hockey, but all the major sports.
