I’ve never really understood why Jewish people largely continue to vote Democrat, when it’s clear the Democrat party has zero interest in supporting Israel. I mean, Obama did more to destroy Israel than any sitting President I can remember, and was upfront and public about it.

Do I have to turn in my Star of David? I am not a leftist but I watch SNL knowing they are. Knowing that Lorne and NBC have one political thought. And... I actually did laugh. It was funny. Kavanaugh’s righteous anger, “starting at an 11 and working myself up to a 15” and “saying” he doesn’t know the meaning of the word stop. Sorry, it was funny. (I even thought it was funny when they mocked Palin whom I loved saying she can see Russia from her house.)

In my uneducated opinion, it is partly tribalism/ part secular Humanism and history of Christians persecuting Jews.

People being people we gather in groups that are most like us. Add in Secular Jews coming out of Eastern Europe adopted Communist ideology and these tend to be more active politically among Jews and don't forget to add in the reaction of the Holocaust probably explains alot why Jews don't trust a Christian dominated GOP.

Of course Jews must be reminded that Christians in the New World are not like Christians in the old. On the whole the more conservative Christian, the more likely they support Israel and Jews in General.

I think religious Jews are more sympathetic with Christians and visa versa and less likely to vote Democratic ticket. The rabib Left hates Israel with a fevered passion.

I think Norman Podhoretz had to write a book about members of my tribe voting Liberal. Someday, I'll read it.

And it is certainly not a good thing to substitute politics -- particularly very bad politics -- for religion.
