Those two are big black marks and thus I cannot trust him implicitly. He may get some things right, maybe many things.

I recall thinking that Levin had, in my opinion, lost his conservative credentials due to his rants against Donald Trump.
Could Levin actually be deep state? In the past, conservatives have hung on his every word. Levin was in a position to influence a lot of conservatives - perhaps he even had a part in the Anti-Trump movement, even here at FR.
I suspect he did not expect the exodus of listeners he experienced.

My take is Levin was probably blackmailed but Bill Kristol is a true derp. As an example. There are others.
I don’t know about Levin or Shapiro or others like them (Bill Kristol for instance) being derps; I suspect they are wedded to certain ideologies and beliefs which they are loathe to give up. Why? Because they’d have to admit “I was wrong”, and people with inflated self esteem hate to admit they were ever wrong.
A person interested more in truth than anything else doesn’t mind admitting they were wrong; in fact, they thirst after truth.
Some may be monetarily influenced as well in various ways.
