Krispy Kreme donuts are fried and then glazed. The only time they are dry and grainy is if one got left in the box and was eaten days later. A rare occasion for those who like Krispy Kreme donuts.
I’m also happy to disagree with your assertion that Southerners don’t know how to bake. We do, we just don’t waste our considerable talents on baking a little donut when frying and glazing works so well.
