Her career went kaput after she stopped doing John Hughes movies over 3 decades ago. I remember she tried a comeback tv series in the early ‘90s called “Townies”, except her then-unknown charming and adorable co-star Jenna Elfman blew her off the screen and the show was quickly cancelled and Elfman became a star with a series for her and movies.

I thought Ringwald was good in The Stand as Fran Goldsmith. Fran was a mercurial b*tch in the book, but she was pleasantly toned down in the TV miniseries.
