Many years ago I Married that so called “ugly duckling”
She was the most Beautiful Woman in the World to me.
Funny thing... from 18 to 45 (and 3 kids) she got significantly Hotter.
Then when I’m in my mid 50’s and she in her mid 40’s... she decided she could do better and left (Scorched Earth Take Everything type Divorce followed)
She left 10 years ago... I can’t help it, I still Love her... But I can NEVER take her back, I cannot afford her (she destroyed me Financially) even if her new Husband dies or she leaves him and takes him to the Cleaners like she did me...
So I guess... “I learned the Truth at 55... “
(Got to be a Country Song in there somewhere) so I will just keep on Lovin MY Life ;^)
Back in HS and college, a buddy and I would go on road trips and made up a “country” song. Adding verses when a trip had something memorable. It starts off with:
I sold my wife
to the Salvation Army
Got four packs of Marlboros
And an old Stetson hat.
Folks say I'm crazy
But I disagree
For the first time in six years
