Pre-orders have begun for the first models of a £3.1million electric car which its makers claim can accelerate from 0 to 60 in less than two seconds.

The futuristic Aspark Owl, manufactured by a Japanese company, is going on display at the Paris Motor Show this week.

At the launch the car's creators said it would have 430 horsepower, weigh less than 1,900 pounds - similar to an average dairy cow and less than half a typical white rhino - and accelerate to sixty in just two seconds.

Customers will be able to put down their first £890,000 (€1 million) deposits at the Paris exhibition, Bloomberg has reported.

v = at
60 mph = a(2 sec)
a = 60 mph/2 sec = 44 ft/sec2 ~ 1.4 g

“How many Gs does such acceleration produce on the driver.”

60 mph in 2 s = 27 m/s in 2s = 13.5 m/s^2 = 1,35 g (1g = 10 m/s^2). Not that much g in fact.

The one doing her hair and eyes?
I think I was often stuck behind her going into Naperville many mornings.

Cool. I think any car that can do what this Japanese thing can do has to have some kind of neat theme song behind it.

"not even close"

Maybe: works out to be about 1.5G, which isn't peanuts when you're talking about blood to the brain.
