ABC has released some new photos from The Conners, its spinoff from the canceled Roseanne. The snaps — check them out below — feature original-series and revival regulars John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Michael Fishman and Lecy Goranson along with Jayden Rey, Ames McNamara and Emma Kenney, who play the Conners’ grandkids and were upped to regular roles for the spinoff.
ABC The sitcom continues the Conner family saga without Roseann Barr, who was fired from the successful Roseanne revival in the aftermath of her racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former senior adviser to President Barack Obama.

John Goodman isn’t looking too healthy.
Anyone know how they will explain Roseanne not being there?

No Roseanne Barr, no show. And John Goodman looks frighteningly ill, like a shrunken little man.
The actor John Goodman is one of those big and tall people who look better being a little overweight, in my opinion.
I’m sure he is medically at a better weight, but right now, he looks desiccated and unwell. The hound dog folds in his face are stark and pronounced. Maybe all that changes when he smiles or is in character.
I didn’t watch any of the shows and probably won’t be watching this either. Roseanne got a raw deal.
All it will take is a producer with enough courage, money and clout to get her back in front of a camera.
I think she’ll find the right TV producer and director for her.
Roseanne Barr has revealed how her namesake character will be written off the upcoming The Conners spin-off.
During an appearance on Brandon Straka’s YouTube show Walk Away over the weekend, Barr said her character will die of an overdose.
“Oh ya, they killed her,” she said. “They have her die of an opioid overdose.”
Barr admitted she was unhappy with the way the writers apparently decided to end her character’s arc.
“It wasn’t enough to [fire me], they had to so cruelly insult the people who loved that family and that show,” she said.
But the actress said she’s come to terms with the show moving on without her.

they’re going to kill her off with an “opiod overdose” according to Rosanne. not sure if it will be shown as accidental or suicide. Rosanne was not pleased in the interview about it.
Somewhere along episode five to eight...the numbers will lay out a dismal show with no potential and I suspect they will cancel the show by episode twelve.
The chief problem I see....it is now crafted to be more of a soap opera with light humor about a multi-generational family. You might as well label it a 30-minute shorter version of ‘Modern Family’. I might also suggest that Sara Gilbert is simply NOT a Roseanne Barr type producer or comical actress. It amazes me that the network hasn’t grasped that.

John Goodman probably got a handle on something like Type 2 diabetes. If you look at what happened to Flounder from Animal House, he dropped a bunch of weight and did some commercials about it and the importance of getting it under control.

Flounder is dead now, though.
