“I was there two full years. I saw dogs for sale as food one time.”
In other words you went to one of the many open air dog-meat markets once during your time in Korea. I’ve seen dogs for sale as food every time I’ve been in Seoul for one or two week business trips because I like to walk around and enjoy exploring the markets.
Some Koreans like to eat dogs - so what?. We Americans like to eat cows, which the Hindus in India consider to be sacred. The average Vegan thinks we are all moral criminals for eating eggs and butter.
Not in this case. It was a stand-alone butcher shop that seemed to specialize in dogs. My memory isn’t good enough to remember if they carried other meats. It was not in the ‘G.I.” section of town but further down where you don’t see too many American soldiers, just Koreans. Uijongbu if I remember correctly. The big markets are a whole different story. You can literally buy anything in one of those.
