Thanks! I hope this means McConnell’s either got the votes, or has struck a deal on getting it through cloture.
The real pressure is on the democrats up for reelection. Because, in my opinion, that is one of the major reasons (other than killing the nomination altogether) they want this beyond the midterms. They want the members of their caucus safely elected before they cast a vote, when the threat of the people removing them from power has been removed.
Manchin probably wants to vote no, but he wants to vote yes so he gets reelected. If he votes no, he’s toast in November. And Joe Donnelly has been wavering. Same deal.
So this is very good news I think.
