Probably means exactly that.

If it were mandatory, there is a higher probability he would have gotten it.

You see how that works?

If you really need an exact answer, go get a psychic and see if you can drum the kid up from the dead.

It probably was mandatory. He probably did receive the flu shot. And if he did, it did him absolutely no good whatsoever.

If you really need an exact answer, go get a psychic and see if you can drum the kid up from the dead.

You don't think the father of the kid would know? The one who was the source of this anecdotal evidence?

So send him a PM. It sounds like you are one of those folks that think science is a conspiracy. And you would never trust the big pharma companies.

Personally, I think that way of looking at the world is ridiculous. It’s like thinking the world is flat because you cannot see the curve.

I prefer not to get small pox, so I am glad my school system believed in science in 1965.

I should have pinged you, I thought that I remembered you had worked with CDC.

If I understand the CDC types, Ebola and its cousins are really scary but they don’t transmit all that easily. Not even a fraction as good as airborne influenza.

A naturally recombinant bird flu would be a major crowd killer. Helping it along by weaponizing it is a good way to give the Earth back to nature. Crichton used that scenario in one of his novels, but his culprits were environmental crazies instead of inscrutable Chinese. He picked on the enviros because some of those lunatics were kicking the idea around in their own writings.

Bully for you...but you’re a teacher. If you missed that little work you likely were infectious while at school. You could have exposed staff, students. If the strain you had wasn’t one that was in the season’s vaccination, even people who had the vax could have been placed at risk by your behavior.

None of that ever occurred to you?!

That’s what it does.

Hybrid flus make your immune system go berserk. The stronger your immune system, the bigger the reaction.

Flu attacks the lungs and if you are young and strong your lungs can flood in such a huge reaction that it kills you.

It can kill you in a hurry. Children were said to leave for school with two healthy parents and come home to find that they were orphans. That may not be an exaggeration.

I get a NON-ADJUVANTED vaccine or NO VACCINE AT ALL!

*********************************************

There is no such thing. They have to use a adjuvant. That is how they get the vaccine to stay in your system. They still use mercury in a lot of vaccines, and aluminium in many others. That doesn’t even include the many other deadly ingredients.

The adjuvant never goes away, but the vaccine protection does. They just keep giving more and more until something gives. Everyone has a limit, and you never know when the last one will put you over the top.
Also, everyone has damage from them, but they just don’t know it yet.

What are the stats now? 1/36 with autism. Lets not even talk about Alzheimer, Parkinson, MS, ALS, and the countless other auto immune diseases and cancers.

To my pro vaccines friends. All I recommend is to read the vaccines inserts. It’s all right there for everyone to see.

A concise video about the “Spanish” flu of 1918-9. The mortality statistics are mind boggling.

The same guy is doing a week-by-week history of World War I (the Great War) (now very close to the end) and started a similar series on World War II last month.

They gave it to us on a Friday so that we would be ill over the week-end on our time and back to work on Monday. Bastards.

The Peace Corps did the same thing. We were headed to Afghanistan—lots of shots. Cholera was the worst for side effects, but rabies wasn’t too much fun either. I was ‘deselected’ the last day of training, so I did not go. Everyone who went was blessed with amoebic dysentery—apparently no vaccine for that.

Mostly in this thread I see a lot of people that are true believers in their science, exactly like the global warming people are believers in theirs. Just depends on which flavor of fearmongering each one latches onto, I guess. The "if you doubt the effectiveness of vaccines, you must believe the earth is flat" is the same logic I see from the global warming cult. "The science is settled!"

I prefer not to get small pox, so I am glad my school system believed in science in 1965.

Influenza isn't smallpox. Smallpox was capable of being eradicated. Influenza mutates into an endless variety of strains over time and incubates in various nonhuman animal and bird species.

Mortality from influenza dropped down to about 5 per 100,000 population just after WW II. It has stayed down there ever since. In the early 1930s during the great depression it had been running about 40 per 100,000. It dropped fairly rapidly once economic conditions improved. The death rate from influenza dropped because of an improved economy. It had absolutely nothing to do with flu vaccines. The current rate of mortality due to influenza probably can't feasibly go any lower. Some percentage of the population is going to have some basic health issues such that if it isn't the flu that gets them, something else will in short order. Influenza is not going to be eradicated by flu shots, so it will continue to gets its share of those deaths.

Thanks for the history lesson. Couldn’t have had anything to do with antibiotics to deal with pneumonia, could it?

To equate this with global warming is a leap. MOST of the scientists associated with global warming are not earth science folks.

Is the flu vaccine a crap shoot? Yup. Is it a scheme? Or a waste of time? Nope.

I just had the flu a couple weeks ago, and missed one day of work.

If you had the flu a couple weeks ago, you made need to call the Guinness Book of World Records since the flu has been almost non-existent nationwide for the past two months. See below:

I skipped last year and had another season where I got a cold but wasn't constantly sick with some bug, as usually happens when I do get the shot.

Last years shot was so ineffective that i doubt it had much impact except to make a lot of those who died feel safer......

There are some things to remember about the flu vaccine. If you are already exposed to the flu, then it can't keep you from getting the flu. If you get the shot and then run right out and expose yourself to the flu, it can't keep you from getting the flu. It takes the shot a week to ten days to build up the immunity.

As for me, I did get the shot last year, but still got the nasty type "A" flu. However, it minimized the symptoms so much that I hardly felt ill for about half a day.

Not vitamin D nor any other vitamin can prevent you from getting the flu. If you ingest the flu virus into your body, you are going to get sick. (Unless, of course, you are immunized against the flu.)

Symptoms began late Saturday evening. I’m not sure I could have foreseen on the prior Friday that I was sick. I feel the hate though.
