I sympathize and empathize as I live in a very similar place, Seattle.

But I have a hillside home that is to die for and a neighborhood that is incredible with marinas, great local cafes, local market, 5-star restaurant, shoreline, all within one to two blocks of home with views to that are like heaven, and I’ve lived here for more than 20 years. I ain’t going nowhere.

Plus I can get to the farm and islands by a short drive or even quicker by seaplane.

I sense the Trump era is shifting things here. There’s still a lot of Boeing, lots of Vets, good people. Things could change here.

But Maine could be a nice escape plus it’s purple now, isn’t it?

Maine has turned. The governor there is the real deal and their gun laws are sane. I’m looking for a lake house or something near the ocean up there. My wife wants to start a B&B up there but I’m trying to rein in her desires ($).

I like where I am now though. For MA it’s fairly rural and the county is largely Republican.
