It was falling apart and my goal was to save it, and experiment, too.

This might give away a potential money making idea, but I've wondered for years why we don't make books/pages out of plastic.

We can do it for noodles, but not for books?

It would cost substantially more. So the question is which books are so important to the future that they should be made of plastic pages. For me, it would be art books, of course.

Many books in the past were self printed, before Kindle became so popular, and people had to think about how much they were willing to spend on quality of paper. One of my personal theories on why Moore was held to be the author of Night Before Christmas for so long was that he had his book printed on terrible paper and research institutions wouldn’t let it out for fear of damage. Given that the book was so awful, no one reprinted it. So no one knew what an awful poet he was. Blame the paper.
