Sorry, but a lifetime appointment is better than a TEMPORARY appointment (by the end of which a Leftist President could be in office) any friggin’ day — and it certainly is now.
Well, you don’t seem to be disagreeing too much. Gives more time to confirm anyhow (and less of an excuse), and the appointed justice could do some good work while there.
And before the Twenty-Second Amendment, there would be less of a possibility of a leftist president getting in after an eight-year period (only less rather than none of course).
