"November 6, 2018, will be a day that goes down in the history books in Alabama. The Ten Commandments Amendment will be on the ballot in November..."

IMHO ~ God is infinite and omnipotent. There need be NO man-made-law to acknowledge HIM or coerce non-believers to believe in Him. He has blessed each of us with free will and a Savior who died for our sins. Faith cannot be mandated by government. - Or can it?
I welcome and anticipate discussion. I am a Christian who is having difficulty processing this proposed amendment to Alabama’s Constitution.
This is dumb. The amendment bars the state from defending it in court. Since its going to immediately be challenged by the ACLU, this is just a feel good move by the GOPe crowd to placate the base, but will do absolutely nothing. They think were stupid.
How does the amendment bar the state from defending it in court?
And yes, “this is dumb” and “they” think we are stupid.
Then post the whole article here. I refuse to click on ANYTHING Facebook.
The link is not an article. It is a video. Only place I have located it and that was happenstance.
For Blood-washed Bible believers the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ covers the Law . . . it is nailed to the Cross.
I’d rather see the Cross, though sadly it has become something of a magic talisman, good luck charm, to the world in general.
That is the #1 “inherited lie wherein there is no profit!”
Torah is eternal.
It was the burdomsome false laws of the Pharisees that were “hung on the cross.”
The lie you proffer will cost billions their chance at eternal life.
Yep, I picked up the provisional ballot the other day. I see amendments as 1&2 yes and 3&4 no.
Are you referring to an absentee ballot? Provisional ballots are provided on election day when one’s name does not appear on the list of registered voters.
YAWN!!
I think it says state funds cant be used to challenge the new law, not defend it.
That is the #1 inherited lie wherein there is no profit”

I do not understand your comment ^. Will you explain?
I concur that the Torah is eternal - it is the Word of God.
Please elaborate, if you will, on your comment about the Pharisees. I have read of them in the New Testament and in a compilation of the writings of Josephus.
I meant to say Sample ballot. Not sure why I typed provisional. Anyway, got it at the courthouse so my wife and I could get in and out of the polling place quick. I really hopes this passes.
Jeremiah 16:19
O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
Romans 2:13
For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Have you any reason to suspect that Paul had lost his senses?
How about Yeshua?
Luke 13:
Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved?
And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
Workers of iniquity: Those that reject Torah.

>>>Romans 2:13
For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.<<<
I absolutely believe what Paul has written, and it is true. A doer of the law will be justified, but only if he meets the standard of the law . . . which is absolute perfection. Anything else and the doer is ‘condemned already.’
Try not to twist Scriptures out of context . . .
“Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God? For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written. For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision? And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law? For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God” (Romans 2:21-29).
This will be struck down almost immediately by the courts. Our un-elected oligarchs have decreed that materialism is our official state religion and they will tolerate no deviation from orthodoxy. People should vote yes anyway. God doesn't need the acknowledgment but our government needs to hear the message.
.
Jeremiah ch 16, prophesying on the Gentiles in the last days having come to grips with the absurdity of “christian doctrine.”
The pharisees were the religious rulers od Judea.
Yeshua completely condemns the Pharisees in Matthew 23 telling them to do what Moses said, but not what the pharisees said “for they say, and do not.”
The false laws of the Pharisees were the unbearable burden that Yeshua demolished.
.
.
You are mistaken when you add in your interpretation:
” A doer of the law will be justified, but only if he meets the standard of the law . . . which is absolute perfection. Anything else and the doer is condemned already. “
The standard was clarified by John in his first epistle.
“If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.
Why do you deny the words of the apostles?
John makes it plain that we must live exactly as Yeshua lived (Torah compliant) if we wish to claim “believing in him.”
If we fail, Yeshua is our advocate with the Father.
Do you really not believe that?
.
>>>John makes it plain that we must live exactly as Yeshua lived (Torah compliant) if we wish to claim believing in him.<<<
“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all” (James 2:10).
Are you not ‘adding in your interpretation’ with this?
>>>John makes it plain that we must live exactly as Yeshua lived (Torah compliant) if we wish to claim believing in him.<<<
Now I agree that we have an advocate with the Father, but only because the Lord Jesus Christ took our place on the cross and the blood cleanseth us from all sins.
