Never ever give up hope. My precious wife was in bad shape and in a coma a few years ago and her sister said to the doctor “So it will take a miracle to have my sister live?” He said “No, it would take several miracles.” I asked him specific things for her to survive and he told me so I prayed for them. God provided them and she somehow pulled through.
I will never listen to someone who says to just accept it and to give up hope.
God makes the decisions and God has the power and whatever fits into His Plan is what we must follow. Not man.
