-—Why speculate before anyone has seen the movie unless the test screenings are coming in bad and Disney doesn’t have the funds for reshoots?—

There’s nothing wrong with the character as originally conceived in the comics.

Part of the undercurrent is:

1. The character currently in comics has been drawn very SJW/butch and is derisively called “Carl Manvers” instead of “Carol Danvers” by some.

2. The character has never been A-list, but many feel Marvel is pushing her too much to be their tentpole female character, but she’s just not compelling enough. Wonder Woman is WAY more interesting.

3. Brie Larson is a super-feminist and even without that, people are concerned about her casting. We’ll see when the whole movie is out there.

At one point, I thought they were talking about a stand-alone movie with Black Widow. What happened to that?
