The author of the Parent - Teacher Handbook should get a zero for apostrophe abuse! The author is probably a snowflake millennial who had a lax English teacher who refused to give zeroes.

If they did not turn in the work they should get the incomplete, which carries a zero. Solved.

When I attended a local community college a few years after my time in the service the P.C. had already begun. There was no fail. Grading was credit, credit with honors, credit with high honors and deferred credit. A DCR could be retaken until passed (if you paid again, of course).
