Google is more than a search engine or gmail account. It is also YouTube. BEsides that, they have advertising hooks in dozens of the largest sites, including conservative ones. Many other sites of all types use Google's engine to determine how information is presented. Few of us on-line don't feel Google's presence directly, whether we know it or not.
