Showbiz people tend to be. Possibly related to the transiency of their jobs. In what other profession can you peak in your childhood and never get a gig again or even close to that level of success in that field for the rest of your life? For psychological comfort, they want a sugar daddy (big government) to pay the bills until the next gig.
