I never enjoyed flying, but I didnt use to loathe it. Between the lack of leg room, the coffin-sized cans, the bad air, the delays, the cancellations, the lack of direct flights....it’s an over-priced, torturous PITA. I’d rather have a simultaneous root canal and IRS audit that fky. And I can say that withe confidence.
Gad, I wish Fedzilla would privatize AMTRAK and let the private sector have at it.
Amtrak came about from the federal government stealing intercity trains from the private railroads in the first place, after they overregulated them nearly out of existence. They sure will not reverse that move.
These days, I think the only privately-operated passenger rail service in the whole country is Florida’s Brightline, which is a brand of the Florida East Coast Railway, connecting Miami and Fort Lauderdale currently.

Yeh, agree. I live in the DFW area and much of my long distance driving is west. This is where I would like autonomous driving vehicles. I could get out on the interstate, punch in the destination, kick back and read, snooze, whatever.
Perhaps you don’t remember the time of pretty flight attendants, outrageously high ticket prices and smoke-filled cabins ...
