A transaction involves two parties. One offers, the other buys. The transaction cannot be split in two. The transaction is one action.
The transaction is either illegal, or legal. If illegal, both parties have broken the law. Being a LEO changes nothing.
It’s illogical to say that one party is innocent while the other party is guilty.

Well I’m glad it’s not the Sharkey’s at Cedar Island, NC. It’s the only food and drink at the campground on the sound front beach there at the ferry landing for Ocracoke. Too long of a day driving to do it all at once, so it works to go to Cedar Island, overnight there, then catch the first ferry to Ocracoke in the AM.
