I don’t think it’s the pilot’s job to press the bleed switch. I could be wrong.
Well I can promise you that it’s on SOMEBODY’S CHECK LIST!!!

I thought it was automatic unless manually switched off. Or tripped by a smoke detector, etc. But maybe you have to manually switch it to automatic?
If the bleed air was off, then the interting system probably was, as well (that is, if they bother with interting in third world countries). And anti-icing. And maybe some other systems. I don’t recall what all bleed air does these days.
If not the pilot, are you looking to the co-pilot?
