It’s kind of like calling everyone racist — it gets done enough and then actual racists and racially motivated crimes get overlooked.
Same thing happening with victims of sex crimes. If there are enough people milking #MeToo out of trendiness even without a genuine case, then REAL victims are undermined.
If there were real penalties for lying about this, less women would lie about it.
