Haven’t heard about the horses on Shackleford Island at the south end of the Outer Banks. Close to Beaufort ( Boh-fert) NC.
Much closer to the eye of Florence.

Several of the beach towns have brought in vets experienced with wild horse populations, some even flying them in from out west, and sending them by boat to uninhabited nearby islands with herds to check on them. I haven’t heard anything but good news thus far. The wild horse population pretty much stops at Carrot Island by Beaufort, and Cedar Island to the north, so they weren’t in the worst part of the storm anyway. There are none south of there to my knowledge.
