Feinstein has lost her damn mind.
If there’s one thing to be learned from this farrago it is that in future hearings of the judiciary committee in which a Republican is the chairman, the first order of business in confirmation hearings for any nominee should be for the chairman to state “If there is any reason to believe that the nominee is morally unfit for confirmation, we will hear it now. If not - as the minister says at a wedding - forever hold your peace. There will be no consideration by this committee of any such charges after the hearings on competence begin.”That should be established when the new Judiciary Committee is formed after the new year - and acceptance into membership on the committee should be conditioned on acceptance of that rule. Violation of that agreement should instantly terminate a member’s standing in the committee. The majority of the Senate has the authority to require that.
Feinstein gave aid and comfort to the enemy. The Constitution has a word for that. Following her trial and conviction, Feinstein’s next effort should be a short drop and quick stop.
Her lawyer didn't tell her to not push it?
I hope to see libel and slander lawsuits in their future. It would serve them right.
