The Number "3000", Puerto Rico, and the Liberal Narrative

Posted on 09/13/2018 3:46:55 PM PDT by GraceG

The Media seems to be using the number 3,000 a awful lot concerning last year's Puerto Rico's Hurricane.

Hmm... 9/11 killed about ~ 3,000 people. It seems to me that with the MSM is trying to tie the two together to say:

" Donald Trump caused a 9/11 size event in Puerto Rico because he is racist ' stuff. "

The number 3,000 so soon after 9/11 just made my ears perk up.

Made up. An earlier story here on FR has all the details. President Trump is correct.

The MSM probably already has a number of stories premade for Florence.

This number must have been tested as believable by the left:

Obama said we would save $3000 on health insurance.

He said he put new fuel efficiency regulations that would save the average driver $3000 per year on gas.

Obama said that his refinance plan for homeowners would save them $3000 per year.

if 3000 died within 2 days of hurricane, where are medical examiners reports.

4 weeks after 9/11 the count was rising.

Show us proof.

They say the 3000 were deaths related to the hurricane for 6 months after the hurricane????

How do they determine that the storms caused the deaths.

On another note, the mayor of San Juan (Democrat) has Benn bad mouthing Pres Trump since the storm and it has been shown that the PR government sat on and hid a lot of supplies sent from the US to the storm victims. More. Democrat character assassination?

Yes indeed, but I wonder if they picked 3,000 as the number “dead” for the psychological impact. The left loves to use cheap psychological tricks to tug at people’s emotions.

3000 is also the approximate number of lies that the resistance press claims PDJT has told. Of course they do not list them.

If 3000 people died, you should have 3,000 bodies and their names. They don’t have that, they have a number spit out by a formula invented by professors from GWU and Harvard. Numbers as real and tangible as Cory Booker’s dear friend T-Bone.

Stop arguing about the numbers!

When we start arguing about the numbers, we have already conceded the narrative.

Whether the hurricane in Puerto Rico killed one person, three thousand persons or a million persons, Trump is responsible for ZERO deaths.

Show us proof.

Sadly, there is no proof: the claims are based on estimates from models done by GWU and, with even higher numbers, Harvard (surprise, surprise)

If there were many more deaths, they were more likely the result of unsanitary conditions and antiquated infrastructure that could not provide power, clean water, or adequately distribute supplies and medical care. Puerto Rico is not much better than at Third World conditions because of years of leftist policies.

Yes, a count of the actual dead is nowhere near as accurate as a number generated by statistics. It reminds me of when some states demanded that estimates of the uncounted in the census be added to the actual count, “because estimates are more accurate than an actual count”. Kind of like exit polls are more accurate than the vote tally.

What do I think? I think Puerto Rico should be cut loose — "Hasta la vista, baby".

Puerto Ricans have been living on that sh*thole since long before the USA was founded, long before Jamestown, Plymouth Rock, etc. If they are too stupid to realize that they live in hurricane alley, then there is no hope for them.

Knowing that every year almost all hurricanes, on their way to somewhere else, either hit or brush by Puerto Rico. An intelligent race would figure this out and plan accordingly. Infrastructure would be engineered and hardened for what might come. Food, water, and fuel would be stockpiled for use when needed. But they lack the intelligence or drive to do what needs to be done.

Shows how they’re kissing the rears of the PR voters. I find it tacky and makes me wonder what they really stand for. No backbone. Disappointed.
