The word "malpractice" has different connotations. With a professional, like a lawyer or doctor, it means providing advice or care which falls short of the professional standard.
With a politician, a media personality, or a journalist, what is the "standard of performance?"
We rejected a certain basic moral/civic code, because sometimes it was inflexible. Or we were seduced to be more open-minded. However you slice it, the standard of performance for influencers has never been defined, but even so, I think it's trending lower.
