President Trump on Friday described his 2016 presidential election as Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's funeral.

"I call it Hillary Clinton’s funeral, that was the night she lost the election," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One. "It was a funeral, it was a wake."

Trump made the remark while speaking about special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian election interference.

The president has repeatedly attacked the probe as a "witch hunt" and blasted lawyers in the special counsel's office as "17 angry Democrats." Mueller is himself a longtime Republican, previously serving as FBI director under presidents of both parties.

Trump on Friday attempted to tie Clinton's electoral loss in 2016 to Mueller's probe, claiming "people that are on Mueller’s team" were "crying" the night she lost.

know what? if President Trump can rally for a significant number of tight congressional races, it's over. dumbocraps have no issues to run on, just identity politics. that won't be enough if we can GET OUT THE VOTE.

It’s an amazing story to tell...two entire years to reshape the Democratic strategy and bring working-class Americans back into the Democratic folder. Yet, every step of the way....it was theatrics and bluffs. There is no real attraction to draw working-class Americans to Democratic House or Senate candidates.

I’ll suggest that when the election is finished....you compare the 2016 ‘red’ county map....county by county across the nation, and it basically stays almost pure red with no changes. If I were the Democratic elites....I’d fire the strategy team and start to ask people what they can do to resolve the lack of faith.
