What’s idiotic is thinking that any single agency is exempt from the potential for rogue actors and corruption. Or that a rogue agent somehow discredits the entire orginization.
Especially based soley on one’s biases and beliefs.
I mean just cause the CEO if Enron was corrupt doesn’t mean the guy in the mail room was too.
It was the CFO of Enron, Fastow, who was corrupt. He knew all the details and who to blame them on (because he created all the shell companies) and he was first to the prosecutor's office to cut a deal. It helped that his wife's family had $$$ and all those connections with judges.
Fastow got a couple of years in a rehab hospital for his alleged valium addiction. I think his wife got home monitoring or something like that. The CEO paid for Fast's sins and got 25 years in prison.
