There really hasn't been that much effort (no need)...the Q 'phenomenon' peaked in early August with their attempt to astro turf the Trump rally in Florida, coinciding with the arrest of several violent Qanon inspired crazies around the country.
Since then there have been a couple of in depth NBC articles dissecting the Qanon scammers and their methods, and maybe a piece or two in the monthly coffee table magazines...that's about it.
The White House disavowed Qanon, the Secret Service banned Q paraphernalia from Trump rallies going forward, and throughout the month as Qanon got debunked, it crashed as a trend on social media. Most of the original Qanon players themselves, have moved on.
There does seem to be an all out effort by the Qanon community to discredit this story however, so there's something to be said for your logical framework. If Posobiec is wrong, why are all the Q-bots obsessed with trying to discredit him.
Personally, I found these events today much more compelling than the sad ending to a dumb little internet melodrama...ymmv
