Singer Ariana Grande took the stage to sing "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," a funeral fit for a queen also served as a reminder that there isn't a single place in this country where a woman can feel safe from sexual assault and harassment.
Following Grande's performance, Pastor Charles H. Ellis III wrapped his right arm around Grande, pulled her close to him and touched her breast. He did this on stage, in a church, during a funeral -- in front of thousands of attendees. Visibly uncomfortable and tense, Grande forced her way through awkward laughs as to not make a scene at the Queen of Soul's eight-hour funeral.
Ellis later apologized to Grande and her fans, telling the Associated Press, "I don't know; I guess I put my arm around her. Maybe I crossed the border, maybe I was too friendly or familiar, but again, I apologize."
The majority of us have felt what Grande undoubtedly felt on that stage: the undeniable fear that accompanies a violation; the need to keep everyone around you happy while you're internally screaming; the cultural expectation to keep smiling while your bodily autonomy is wholly dismissed. To watch it play out at a funeral is not to be shocked by what you've witnessed, but to be reminded that women -- no matter how powerful or famous -- are not granted the same public safety as men.
But Grande is not the first woman to have been sexually assaulted at a funeral. Sophie Saint Thomas, a freelance writer, was groped while attending her grandmother's funeral this year. "My grandmother died of colon cancer earlier this summer." Thomas told me. "Her death was a massive loss for me, and I was very deep in mourning when I traveled to the funeral."

She was SO BRAVE to remind us of that!!
Shouldnt have happened even if she was naked.
That said I am weary of women who are sexually aggressive in their dress and manner then are upset when men respond sexually.
Interesting song selection for a funeral - to say the least. Victim shaming??? Maybe, but taste does have its place.
Head out to the ME women! Whine about your safe space over there. 1 guy, 1 creep. Bill Clinton oggling her, hes a creep.
I am finding it impossible to feel empathy towards anyone at this funeral.
The woman I do feel sorry for is Aretha Franklin. She deserved a better funeral than this clown show. A random gathering of her fans would have behaved better and been more respectful.
She probably didn’t express instructions for her funeral, just as she didn’t have a will, so the SJWs filled the void.
“Boobsalot, boobsalot, boobsalot, I like boobsalot, boobsalot, boobaslot.......”
Has anyone seen how tiny Ariana Grande is? I doubt she’s even 5’ tall. The guy couldn’t put his arm around her anywhere else because he’s 6’2’ and she’s about 4’8”!
So... she wasn’t McCain?
this is all you need to know about Grande:
Ariana Grande Licks Donut, Says I Hate America, Cancels MLB All-Star Performance
this at a funeral in front of a 'known' rapist, racist, thief and Islamic terrorist sympathizer
and then claim there's no safe place in America
....you'll get no sympathy from me for playing victim of your own making!....
5’ barefoot according to Google.
A pox on all their houses.
Love Calypso Louie’s grandpa pants hiked up to his underarms.
Watch the video. He repeatedly wiggles his finger on the edge of her breast, and she turns to look at his hand doing it. He knew what he was doing, and so did she. She did a very good job of not letting her face show it.
That's when you put your hand on top of the shoulder, or the outside of the arm. It's not difficult. There's no reason to wrap around the side of the upper chest, inside the arm.
