They are for the workers working for Third World wages, subsidized by the taxes of the ones who work extra hard to get a leg up. They are for workers becoming serfs who pledge their loyalty to a politician or a CEO in exchange for the chance to hope for a paycheck next week. They are for workers who will exchange their freedom for a small perk that can be taken away later and repurchased with another freedom.

Their last throw was making sure we had no one to vote for. I.e. Heads we win, tails you lose.
In 2016 we actually had a choice and took it.
